The primary requirements of a group Coach involves:
The Baseball For Life (BFL) Coach will serve as the first point of contact between their group’s athletes and BFL. It is the job of a Coach to guide the athletes and peer models during baseball and non-baseball focused BFL activities. BFL’s goal is to build relationships that allow youth and leaders to develop life-skills, helping participants prepare for successful futures on and off the field.
A Coach Should:
Have a passion for volunteerism and investment in Charlotte’s youth
Be comfortable serving as a leader and understand the importance of leading by example.
Be familiar with and enjoy the game of baseball.
Time Commitment
4 Annual Leadership Events
2-3 Service Projects Per Year (Each Lasting 2-3 hours)
Baseball For Life Annual Dinner - 1st Friday in February.
BFL Summer Camp - 4 mornings in the summer.
5-7 Workouts Annually at On Deck Academy (2 hour workouts)
Maintain regular contact with athletes and peer models through call, text, and email.
Maintain frequent communication with other BFL coaches and provide feedback on the BFL mentor program.
